John Wayne Parr started training in Taekwondo after turning 11, and by the time he was 13 he had made his full transition over to Muay Thai. Whilst most other boys at 14 were in school, Parr competed in his first ever fight and never looked back! By 17, he had already started to win titles, and the rest is history!
John Wayne Parr is an absolute legend of the Muay Thai sport and it's an honour to have him fighting for what could be the last time on GFL this week. He will be in tough against Perth, Australia's own Daniel "the Rock" Dawson who has successfully won titles in both boxing, kickboxing, & muay thai.The bout was the decider between the two. John Wayne Parr took the victory in their first encounter in 1999 on the Gold Coast. Daniel Dawson claimed the revenge in 2000 in Melbourne.
Fifteen years later, two Australian fighting sports veterans squared the differences in front of the Perth crowd. The bout went ahead at Origins 8 fight show.
After five rounds of action the judges score cards stated: 49-47, 50-48, 50-45, declaring JWP as the winner of the contest.
