OKTAGON 44 Results: Pavol Langer completes his underdog story to win interim belt

In the main event, Pavol Langer (12-9) proved the oddsmakers wrong once again by earning a close split decision victory over Alexander Poppeck (16-5) to lift the interim light heavyweight belt. The Slovakian giant was hurt on the feet during the opening rounds but rallied to get the better of the standup for the remainder of the five-round contest. Langer now looks to continue the best form of his career, having won six of his last eight, as a potential unification bout with Karlos Vémola is on the horizon.

Bojan Veličković (23-12-1) bested the incredibly durable, Christian Jungwirth (14-7), in a thrilling fight over the distance to advance in the Tipsport Gamechanger. In another quarter final contest, Greek warrior, Andreas Michailidis (15-6), submitted Marcel Grabinski (23-8) in the second round to progress in the European MMA Champions League.
